Houston Rockets To Retire Yao Ming's Jersey.
Houston Rockets owner Leslie Alexander announced today that the Rockets will retire Yao Ming's #11 jersey this season. Yao was drafted by the Rockets in 2002, and spent his entire NBA career with the franchise. Yao was selected to 8 NBA All-Star teams and had career averages of 19.0 ppg, 9.2 rbg, & 1.9 bpg. Earlier this month Yao was enshrined in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. His jersey will be retired on February 2nd during the Chinese New Year celebration while the Rockets play against the Atlanta Hawks.
