Danny Garcia & Andre Berto Exchange War Of Words.

When Andre Berto knocked out Victor Ortiz in their welterweight rematch back in April, it was believed to be an audition for a title fight with current WBC champion, Danny Garcia. In the months that have passed since, Berto was believed to be the chief candidate for Garcia's first title defense. It is a fight that makes sense considering Berto is ranked #2 by the WBC, behind Amir Khan who is out for the remainder of the 2016-year because of a hand injury.

Negotiations were ongoing as Showtime Sports general manager Stephen Espinoza mentioned to USA Today in August, with a scheduled bout date to land between September 24th and October 15th. It is now mid-September and no opponent has been officially announced for Danny Garcia. However, rumors began to swirl around last week that his upcoming opponent would be John Molina, who is coming off a victory against Ruslan Provodnikov.

Andre Berto further fueled those rumor flames earlier on his instagram social media account by posting a meme of his face in regard to his thoughts about the potential bout between Danny Garcia and John Molina.

Danny Garcia responded by saying he accepted the fight. There is no definitive reason as to when and why negotiations between the two broke down. But Berto would later make another post on his twitter account stating he didn't outprice himself for the matchup with Danny Garcia. So that could be a reason as to why John Molina's name has been mentioned over the past week. It has been an inactive year for the man known as Swift, as he has not fought since winning the vacant title against Robert Guerrero back in January.
