Team USA Basketball Set For 2016 Rio Games

It looks as if Team USA has it's 12 man roster set for the 2016 Olympic games in Rio over the summer. Per ESPN's Marc Stein newly crowned NBA Champion Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers has agreed to join the roster.

It has been greatly publicized over the last few weeks how many notable USA Basketball alums have chosen to not participate this year. Those names include LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Kawhi Leonard, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, and Anthony Davis. As a result of plenty of the usual names not being available, we will get to see some fresh new faces, who may have not gotten this opportunity before to defend America's Gold Medal.

Even with so many big name players passing on this years games, Jerry Colangelo & Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski were still able to put together a great roster, that will have no issue bringing home the gold.

The final 2016 USA Basketball team is as follows, Kyrie Irving, Demar Derozan, Kyle Lowry, Klay Thompson,Jimmy Butler,Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony,Paul George,Harrison Barnes,Demarcus Cousins, Draymond Green & DeAndre Jordan.
