Golovkin's Last Opponent Dominic Wade Attacks 2 Women, Facing Up To 3 Years In Prison.

Dominic Wade (19-1,12 KO's) became known to the majority of the boxing world when it was announced that he would be challenging then WBA & IBF Middleweight Champion Gennady Golovkin(35-0, 32 KO's) as the mandatory challenger for Golovkin's IBF title.
Many fans were disappointed in this choice of an opponent for Golovkin, even though the fight was mandated by the IBF. Regardless it was looked at as a mismatch and it turned out that it indeed was. On April 23rd at the Forum in Inglewood California, Gennady Golovkin did what the entire boxing world expected him to, and gained his 22nd consecutive knockout. Wade had been knocked down 3 times before the fight ended with 23 seconds still remaining in Round 2.
Dominic Wade a DC native was not in attendance at the announcement presser for his fight with Gennady Golovkin in Los Angeles, and we now appear to know why. He was on house arrest and could obviously not travel across the country. However, he was given some type of an exemption to compete with Golovkin in April.
TMZ Sports has reported that Wade was charged with assault following a December 23rd incident in which he allegedly attacked the mother of his child, and then punched the woman's niece in the face.
The niece told officers that she heard all of the commotion and ran to the room in an attempt to help her aunt when Wade punched her in the mouth and ended up knocking out one of her teeth.
Wade has since pled GUILTY and is facing up to 3 years in prison in August at his sentencing hearing.
